Scientist.com connects pharmaceutical and biotech researchers with the suppliers who run their experiments. I worked on its large, long-lived Rails codebase for nearly four years.
My work there included:
- A custom markdown-based blogging platform, plus a tool to migrate the existing content into it automatically
- An overhaul of all user account flows, including sign up and log in
- A redesigned first-run setup for new developers, and much more documentation in the README
- Faster performance by simplifying the app’s dependencies
